Relay for Life Walk to Cure Cancer 2012
2012 Relay for Life
St. Andrew parish and our team can be very proud of our contribution to Relay for Life for the 2012 year. Through all of our efforts, we were able to provide over $8,200 to the American Cancer Society for its goals of research, education, and patient services. Our team, Andy’s Saints, is well recognized and appreciated in the community for its participation and support in this event. This year we had over 20 team members who were capably guided by our dedicated and hard working co-captains: Mary K. Garon, Lisa Johnson, and Linda & Robert Lane. Cancer impacts many people in the US, and many of these people are within our own community as well as in our parish. Each year our team selects members of our parish community to whom we dedicate our efforts, and this year long-time parishioners, Jim Tracy and Jan Sugue were honored. Participation in Relay not only provides monetary support to the American Cancer Society, but also provides camaraderie and support among parishioners, especially those battling cancer. We are always encouraging others to participate with our team, so look for our announcements in the parish bulletin, and join us in a very worthwhile community event.
